Auditions for YMOB’s 2024-2025 Season

Auditions for the Young Musicians of Baltimore Youth Orchestra 2024-25 Season will will be held on Saturday, June 22st 2024 and Saturday, August 24th 2024 at Grace United Methodist Church, or by arrangement. To schedule an audition, please fill out the online audition form below.

Audition Requirements:

Violin: A three octave scale of your choice, and a prepared piece (minimum repertoire level ASTA Grade 6 or Suzuki Book 6). Students should be prepared to sight read.

Typical repertoire range by section (section assignment is based on repertoire level, ensemble experience, and level of artistic development):

1st Violin: Bruch Concerto through Paganini Caprices

2nd Violin: Corelli La Folia through Bruch Concerto

Viola: A two or three octave scale of your choice, and a prepared piece (minimum repertoire level ASTA Grade 4 or Suzuki Book 4). Students should be prepared to sight read.

Cello and Bass: A two octave scale of your choice, and a prepared piece (minimum repertoire level of ASTA Grade 5 or Suzuki Book 5). Students should be prepared to sight read.
