Where and when does YMOB rehearse?

Young Musicians of Baltimore Youth Orchestra rehearses on Saturday mornings from 10am-12:30pm. The first rehearsal is the Saturday after Labor Day weekend. Rehearsals take place at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210. There is parking on the side of the church. Enter the glass doors under the green roof facing the parking lot. Turn left, go up the stairs to the second floor.

How often does YMOB perform?

Young Musicians of Baltimore Youth Orchestra performs two full concert programs a year, with concerts in November and March. Rehearsals take place September through November, and then January through March.

How much does YMOB cost?

Tuition for the YMOB 2023-2024 Season is $475.

How does the YMOB audition process work?

Musicians can schedule a live audition by filling out our audition form. After a successful audition, invited musicians register through our online portal and join us for our first rehearsal from 10am-12:30pm the weekend after Labor Day, where new and returning members alike read through the program together for the first time.

When are auditions?

Auditions are held in June, August, and January. See the calendar for exact dates and register for an audition to get the process started.

Do I need to audition if I was previously in the YMOB orchestra?

No, musicians from the current season can just email to state your intention to return and complete the required registration forms and releases so that we may reserve your spot. We welcome musicians who have played with us in previous seasons to rejoin on a space-available basis, please email us to inquire.

What if I can’t play the concert? What if I am not available for the whole season?

Conflicts happen and are handled on a case-by-case basis. With prior approval from the directors, we are happy to have you join the fun and rehearse with us even if you are unavailable for the concert or only available for half of the season. Please email us to inquire.
